Winter Sunset

Above is a photo of "Winter Sunset" with a custom made frame.  I love the look of the light colored frame with this beach scene.  My husband has been making my large frames for some time now.
This will be for sale at Charlotte Country Day School April 11, 12, & 13.  Don't forget Big Saturday at CCDS and their pop up Art sale.

Day 16 "End of Summer"

Day 16 for 30 day challenge with Leslie Saeta and Day 47 counting the 31 days with the Strada Easel Challenge.
"End of Summer"
6" x 12"
oil on wooden panel
Today I felt the pressure of both challenges.  I almost didn't do one today and was tired from walking about 20 miles since last Friday.  I look forward to tomorrow with new vigor for painting and finishing this second challenge.

"Sunset on the Beach"

"Sunset on the Beach"
8" x 10"
oil on canvas panel
For Sale at Island Art Gallery in Pawleys Island.

I took a few minutes after a beautiful windy wedding to enjoy the sunset. This was painted from a photo that I took on Folly Beach this Fall.  It was so enjoyable painting this scene which brought back and a time and place and the colors of the moment.

Sold in Gerogetown

"Winter Beach"
8" x 10"
oil on canvas

"Beach Path"
6" x 8"
oil on canvas

I love these two paintings that just sold.  The beach scene is from a photo that I took one windy January day on a South Carolina beach.  The painting looked windswept to me and washed clean.  The other painting was from a photo that I took on a beach in Cape Cod.  The water is a deeper blue their than the South Carolina beaches.

Beach Scenes

I've been busy with my palette knife.  I went back to my former style of painting marshes.  I think I get more depth and color with a palette knife.  I'm taking these to the South Caroline beach to hang in two galleries.
