"Wilbur's Cousin" SOLD

The story of "Wilbur's Cousin".
There is an egret named Wilbur that hangs around "Independent Seafood" in Georgetown.  They feed him shrimp and other yummy things.  I saw a beautiful egret in the marshes of Hunting State Park.  I wanted to honor Wilbur so I named this one "Wilbur's Cousin".  This painting sold a couple of weeks ago.  I know the new owners will love this painting as much as I do.

Solitude

"Solitude"
36 x 36
oil on gallery wrapped canvas
palette knife.
$950

This painting is from a photo that I took a few weeks ago on Pawleys Island, South Carolina.  I was on the Causeway plein air painting.  When I was finished I saw some people gathering.  I think it was feeding  time for the egrets.  I walked on the boardwalk and saw about twenty egrets feeding at low tide.  Something scared them away.  To the right was one lone egret that continued to stay and feed and look very elegant and alone.

Solitude

I journeyed alone to Pawleys Island on Monday.  It was such a joy to paint on the Causeway at Huntington State Beach Park.  The egret above represents the calm solitude of the moment.  Below is a photo of Island Art Gallery on Highway 17.  Starting today Island Art is where I will displaying some of my art.  When you are in Pawleys stop by and see my art.  Tomorrow I will post which ones are there.
