I love this red door.  In the photograph is was mahogany.  I think I would like this painting with or without the blue bike.  Because of the bike parked outside the red door, you wonder why the blue bike was parked there.  Inside those doors, is it someone's home or a tourist destination.

This is a side door at Mission San Miguel.  The Franciscan missionaries built 21 missions on the El Camino Real in California.

You can find the original Mast General Sore in Valle Crucis, North Carolina.  It originally opened in 1883.  My daughter went to Appalachian State not far from there.  My husband and I had fun exploring the small towns with tourist attractions in the North Carolina Mountains.

This window intrigued me because of the age and all the decals.

This is the back of Mission Carmel.  Beautiful gardens in this Mission which was the 14th one built on the El Camino Real.

Happy New Year!

This is a great way to start off the new year.  I joined Leslie Saeta's thirty day painting challenge.  I have been thinking about painting a series of doors for a long time.  2014 is the year to stop thinking and start doing.  My first door painting is painted from a photograph that I took while visiting Germany.
