Day 10 "Sunrise"

Day 10 "Sunrise"
7" x 5"
oil on linen panel
I didn't have time to paint or post yesterday so I will do two today.  This image was taken early morning on a drive to the beach.  It was foggy in Charlotte which made the sunrise very exciting.

Frozen

"Frozen
24" x 30"
oil on gallery wrapped canvasI
$750
On a weekend trip to the mountains, my family and I hiked Roan Mountain.  The views were fabulous.  It was so cold that the fog froze on everything.  That is not snow on the trees.  The Blue-ridge Mountains are in the background.  It was a joy to paint this scene.

I took this photo for my painting from West Cliff also, but on a misty morning. I tried a different palette for this painting.  The green on the cliffs are ice plant.  When the ice plant is in bloom, it is gorgeous.
