This painting is from a photo that I took a few weeks ago on Pawleys Island, South Carolina. I was on the Causeway plein air painting. When I was finished I saw some people gathering. I think it was feeding time for the egrets. I walked on the boardwalk and saw about twenty egrets feeding at low tide. Something scared them away. To the right was one lone egret that continued to stay and feed and look very elegant and alone.
