This year has been busy with traveling to the West. We went to a wedding in Oregon, a family reunion in British Columbia, and a memorial service in California. When I travel by plane I take a sketch book with me to record events and some of the things I would like to paint later. My sketch books along with my camera help capture the feelings and scenes of my travels. My time is usually limited but I still think about what I can paint when I get home. The smallest sketch was for hiking the Camino de Santiago. I have sketch books in all sizes. My watercolor kit is about the size of a postcard.
