Day 21 "Carlsbad Sunset"

Day 21 " California Beach Sunset"
14" x 11"
Oil on canvas
$125
A friend from San Diego sent a photo to go along with my beach and marsh scene.  I started this painting last night and finished it today.  The sky was very complicated and I would love to spend many more hours on it.
Two weeks later I got a chance to work on this painting again.  I lightened the beach shadows and added a little more color to the clouds.

Day 8 "Waiting"

Day 8 ~ 30 paintings in 30 days
"Waiting"
8" x 8"
Oil on canvas panel
$95
Today I'm back using a palette knife.  Sometimes it's harder with a small painting like the.  This is sail boat looking a little tired in the Georgetown Harbor.  There was an operating pulp mill near by with smoke billing out of the smoke stack. The smoke makes for more atmosphere in the sky which makes a beautiful sunset.
