Nearing Twilight

"Nearing Twilight"
18" x 36"
Oil on wrapped canvas

On the way to get ice cream in Cape Cod on vacation this summer, I stopped and took this photo at twilight.  The boats were half in the sun and half in the shade.  This beautiful little port is Harwich Port.

Day 22 "Fishing Shacks"

30 Paintings in 30 Days
Day 22
"Fishing Shacks"
Oil on canvas panel
8" x 10"
$95

Day 22 is snow day in Charlotte.  We started out with no power this morning.  I was afraid that my paints would be too cold to use today.  Finally the heat came on and I was able to paint in the warmth of my studio.

This special place was on the way to the Bay of Fundy.  The tide was out so the boats were sitting up pretty high with no water around them.  Lined up along the dock were brightly colored fishing shacks.  I might dab a little more paint on the shacks when the painting drys to show how really colorful they were.

A Painter's Dream

What a dream to paint all day long for three days with Leslie Saeta in Charlotte.  Day one sixteen of us painted pears and learned about color mixing.  Day two we painted boats and day three we painted a sunset with a palm tree.  All with a palette knife.  All the workshop members were talented artists.  What a fabulous weekend.
