Mission San Luis Rey

This is the second in my California Missions series. San Luis Rey was the second mission founded by Junipero Serra, a Franciscan priest from Spain. Twenty-one missions stretch along the Camino Real from San Diego to Sonoma. This mission is five miles east of Oceanside and started in 1798. I visited this beautiful white washed mission in June of this year.
