"Orange Slices"

Oranges are a wonderful still life subject and is so pretty with blue.  It is a cheery subject for a cold and foggy day.  This is a palette knife painting on a 8" x 8" panel.

    This is a wonderful piece. I am studying art at college in England and I was wondering whether you could comment on what you, as the painter, feel was the purpose of this painting? Thank you! Endre

    Dear Endre, Thank you for your comment. As a studio painter, it is important to paint still life once in awhile to keep sharp in seeing shadows and depth that you don't get in photographs. I was also in challenge to paint 30 paintings in 30 days. The complimentary colors were a joy paint.
