I took this photo a few years ago but wasn't sure how to paint it. The daily paintings make it easy to experiment with ideas. After painting the Eiffel Tower, the lighthouse didn't seem like such a difficult subject. This beautiful spot is off of Highway 1 between San Francisco and Santa Cruz. I have moved away from my theme of South Carolina beaches and marshes a couple of times. California have turned the lighthouse buildings into a Hostel. You can rent a room and see the beautiful view up close.
